Dr. Kirsten Romani and our staff hear our patients asking this question as they wonder about the difference between a dentist and an orthodontist. Before becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Romani started out in dental school at University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, and earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, just like your dentist. After dental school however, Dr. Romani decided she wanted to practice orthodontics, which is one of nine specialties within the dental field. So she entered a residency program for two more years of education and training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she became an expert in orthodontics, which is a profession that focuses on tooth and jaw alignment, as well as bite problems such as overbites and under bites.
Today, Dr. Romani is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and is committed to delivering healthy and beautiful smiles to patients of all ages in Providence, Chepachet, and surrounding communities.
Isn't it nice to know there's a dental expert in Dr. Romani to help you through any type of treatment your teeth, jaw and bite might need?
